American Bose is best known for their noise reduction headphones, but now they bring their expertise into the cars of the future.
Who wouldn’t enjoy an even quieter drive? Modern cars have become effective in dampening external noise, but American Bose believes they can do better. Especially in electric cars, where noise from road and deck becomes more audible, Bose believes that with their expertise in noise reduction, they can make a big difference.
Most people know Bose for their gradually classic QuietComfort headphones, which have long been the best in active noise reduction. Now, however, they have finally got a worthy competitor . Now they go ahead and show QuietComfort for cars.
How QuickComfort works for cars
These are not extra thick insulation or extra quiet tires, but instead of microphones and algorithms. Bose uses a combination of an accelerometer, signal processing software and microphones all around the car as well as the car’s built-in speakers to control the unwanted noise.
The system also learns with time so that the sound is best eliminated in the individual car. It sounds pretty wild and like a good use of active noise reduction. As long as it does not compromise safety, we already know how well a pair of headphones can isolate us from the outside world.
Bose will work with various car manufacturers in the development of the product. The first cars with QuietComfort are thought to be ready in cars from 2021.
